From September 3th to 5th, the Isogaisa festival was held in Målselv. It was the first international shaman festival. Shamans from all over the world had come to Northern Norway, but most of the guests were known Sámi ‘noaides’ from Norway and the Russian Kola Peninsula.

Korkina has been pracising shamanism for many years, especially healing. She also knows a lot about the history of shamanism on the Kola peninsula.
Nadezhda Ljashenko published books om Sámi history related to shamanism, practices healing, and is said to be able to diagnose cases amazingly precisely.
During the festival, Korkina and Ljashenko told the audience about ‘life on the tundra in the Soviet years’. About the spiritual world, myths and tales from Kola, shamanism and healing.
